If you were given three wishes for your health, what would you want to change in the next 90 days? What would you really like for yourself and your health?
Have you thought about that before? Do you know what you’d like? Maybe you think that you’ve been so sick or so tired for so long that things can’t change? Or maybe you’ve been so busy and so stressed that you haven’t had a minute for yourself.
Give yourself a few minutes right now to imagine what it would feel like to feel better. What would that version of you in 90 days feel like? Would you have…
- Double the energy so you could do all those things you really want to do
- Sleep better so you felt more rested
- Be able to eat a meal without your gut screaming at you
- A flatter belly without all the bloating you’ve had for years
- A happier outlook on life
- More time for yourself to relax or read or get a pedicure
What’s stopping you or holding you back?
Are you just too tired to even think about what you could be doing for your health? Or do you have so much responsibility piled on your shoulders that you cannot handle even thinking about one more?
Do you not know where to start? If you’re uncertain where to start, grab a piece of paper and a pen. Draw 2 lines down the page so you have three columns. Then on the left hand side start by writing out what’s going well. These can be little things like finding a great new recipe, or connecting with an old friend. It can also be bigger things like a new client or being acknowledged by someone you respect. Just jot down anything and everything you can think of that’s going well for you.
In the next column, write down what’s not going as well as you’d like. Put your challenges to paper and get them down. Don’t write a novel here but just note some challenges that you’re facing.
Now in the third column, write down what you would like to change? Don’t pre-judge here. If thoughts come up like “Well, I don’t have the money to go back to school,” or “I don’t have anyone to pick up the kids so there’s no way I could do that.” Just write down what would need to change. Take five minutes and do this now.
You don’t have to know the HOW
One bit of wisdom I learned a long time ago is that I don’t have to know “how” I’m going to be able to do something. I just need to know what I want. You will get or find the information you need on the “how.” You first need to just get clear on the “what.” And here’s an important piece of the puzzle…the quote at this post says, “Life has no remote. Get up and change it yourself” does not mean that you have to figure out everything on your own. All you need to do is to know that you want your life to change.
